Notion: A great tool to organize your ideas

Notion is one workspace for every team that can be customized to work the way you do and truly, to make your life so much easier.

How to improve your productivity with Notion

It is indisputable that 2020 changed each of us, and we had to reinvent ourselves to meet new goals. Whether you are starting a business or working remotely for your company, we understand that it is essential to organize our plans and ideas, that is why we are sharing with you a tool that we love to use.

Throughout the years, we've tried several platforms that supported our daily productivity such as Todoist, Evernote, One Note, Trello, Asana, Monday and many more. But now, an app that is killing it and emerging as Slack did back in the day, in a minimalist and unrestricted way with free access to all its functions, is Notion.

Notion is a cross-platform task organizer that allows you to take your personal and work planning to another level. You can be online or even offline, and you can work from your computer and your smartphone in order to create, manage and collaborate with others.

This tool aims high and with its great versatility you will be able to write texts, lists, checkboxes, bullets and more, while organizing your work through tables, databases, galleries and calendars. Furthermore, you can add pages and sub pages within Notion as folders on your desktop.

You can share your page to other users of the app, even to external users, since you can do it through a link like Dropbox does, when we talk about sharing we mean that these users can see your content, contribute to the content of your page and also communicate with you.

In short, Notion is much more than a productivity app, it works like a digital brain that allows you to manage your day-to-day in an orderly way.

"Notion continues to be the easiest way to get information centralized somewhere and shout it out to someone else. For us, that’s extremely important because half our team is remote." Co-founder and Head of Engineering at Loom

How does Notion work?

To be a Notion user you only need to create your profile by signing up with your email, Google or Apple account, which will allow your information to be synchronized on the device you connect to.

Notion works from its website, but you can download the desktop version for Windows and Mac or the mobile app version for Android and iOS. It also works offline, so you can keep organizing your content and it will sync when you're back online.

You can use templates to make it easier to begin organizing your projects and yourself, or start from scratch since when you start Notion the app provides a blank canvas so that you can use the functions and tools as you wish.

Notion Tools: Content Blocks

Each piece of content you add in Notion is called a block. To add a block you just have to click on the + sign and review the list of available options. If you don't want to take your hands off the keyboard, type the / symbol followed by the tool you want to add. For example: /Headline 1.

Among the content blocks, you can find:

- Text
- Pages
- To-do lists, enumerated lists or with bullet points
- Checkbox
- Titles
- Media files such as images and videos.
- Embedded codes
- Links
- File upload
- Quotes
- Tweets
- Calendars
- Boards

And more.

Why we use it?

It is a great tool that can be used in your day to day life, but what is it that really makes Notion so attractive? It's super easy to use. Why? It's flexibility and versatility allow you to use it as you wish. So we use it for everything, like creating and MVP, as a guideline document for a product or as a quick access landing page to provide information or context for a project. We even use it to track our meetings and to visualize our roadmap and future tasks.

We invite you to try Notion right away and use it to be more productive at work or to help you grow your company and clients projects.
